What is an IND file?
An IND file is a file placed on a Memory Stick media card when formatted with a Sony device. It is created by various Sony devices when formatting a Memory Stick to indicate that the type of media connected to the device is a Memory Stick. IND files are typically named MEMSTICK.IND.
IND files are not meant to be opened. They are referenced by the device the Memory Stick is connected to and can be deleted.
Some examples of Sony devices that create IND files include Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) and Sony digital cameras. Various Sony devices, such as digital camcorders, may create an additional file named MSTK_PRO.IND for Memory Stick Pro media cards.
MEMSTICK.IND - Common name given to IND files on Memory Stick media cards.

Document created with InDesign, a professional print and digital layout program; may include formatted text, links, images, and other embedded media; supports multiple pages and page transitions.
InDesign documents use the .INDD file extension, but some documents may be saved with just the '.ind' extension to conform to Windows' standard three-letter extension naming convention.
